King Nai Agyemang Wyettey Otabi III attends official reception for Sachtleben creativity stars

Eight years of Hollywood-style bronze-star honours for Sachtleben's innovative staff

One of Sachtleben's prime corporate objectives is employee-assisted continuous improvement. Diversity of ideas, combined with creativity and focused on an active internal suggestion scheme (ISS), therefore have a long history at Sachtleben. In the past trading year, the company's around 1300 staff submitted more than 2800 suggestions in the context of improvement activities for the company, just on half of them being implemented without further formality. The improvements achieved enabled Sachtleben to make net saving of 665,000 Euro this year, set against 150,000 Euro paid out in awards for the suggestions received. So it's only natural that the staff with the greatest flair and inventiveness should be rewarded, at an appropriate celebration, with a bronze star cast by the hand of an artist.

Sachtleben particles eliminate chemical and biological warfare agents

Duisburg’s titanium dioxide photo catalysts play key role in international peace project.

Ever since the Chemical Weapon Convention was signed in 1997, warfare agents such as Sarin, Soman, Tabun or V agents such as VX – made famous in the action film "The Rock" – have been outlawed all over the world. In WWI, these weapons killed some 100,000 soldiers and injured over a million more. The international convention now calls for the destruction of all of the world’s major arsenals of these agents. However, these complex chemical substances cannot simply be destroyed, and continue to be a significant danger for mankind.
